Teaching and Building - Rikki

WHAT DID THE TEAM DO TODAY?

Today we all split up and left for Catechesis at Calla Creek and Arenal to teach the primary school kids about Jesus’ miracle of the multiplication of the loaves. We acted out the miracle and gave each class the chance to do the same. We also sang, danced, and enjoyed playing outside with all the children during their recess. Later in the day, after regrouping and eating lunch together, we split up again and went to work on our Corporal Works of Mercy; building an outdoor kitchen and a welcome sign for the primary school in Arena. We finished the day with holy hour and a fun session of sharing with each other our daily High, Low, and Come to God moments.

WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT WHAT WE/I DID TODAY?

I feel blessed each day I am here getting to spend time with the people of Benque. I enjoy teaching and interacting with the primary school kids, and it has been great getting to know more about my Mission Buddies each day. I have been humbled by the work we do for the families in need and I am taken back each day by the overwhelming love and sense of community these people have for each other.
