SOLT
SISTERS
A vocation to the consecrated life is about being so filled with the love of Christ that only giving oneself totally and exclusively back to him will suffice. It springs from a relationship of love with the Lord, who initiates a deep interior call that beckons, “Come, follow Me.” He asks a person to be set apart, consecrated, that she might become an echo of His life on earth.

OUR PRAYER LIFE
As SOLT Sisters we care called to imitate our Blessed Mother and to become so much like her that we are recognized as her sisters and daughters. Like her, we live a contemplative active life, dedicated to the service of God and our brothers and sisters. Daily as a community, we participate in the holy sacrifice of the Mass, Eucharistic holy hour, the Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, and meditation on the Word of God. We also have monthly days of recollection and an annual retreat. One of our unique spiritual practices is the Paschal Mystery Retreat where every Thursday through Sunday throughout the year, a sister is assigned to spiritually accompany Jesus in his passion, death and resurrection. It is a reminder that we are called to live in oneness with Christ and to offer ourselves in union with his sacrifice.
OUR COMMUNITY LIFE
Our community life is multifaceted within SOLT. As Sisters, our primary community is within our houses and from there extends to our ecclesial teams. We strive to live in graced friendship with each other, balancing our community prayer life with times of recreation and rest. We gather each year for our SOLT Assembly and retreat, which are occasions of renewal and encouragement. In our missions we share times of common prayer, meals and recreation with the other vocations of SOLT, and strive always to be witnesses of communion.

OUR APOSTOLIC LIFE
“Missionary” describes not so much what we do in SOLT, as who we are. The Church is missionary by her very nature, in union with Jesus her spouse, in whom the fullness of total, faithful and fruitful love is pleased to dwell. SOLT Sisters strive to imitate Mary in her continual “yes,” to become like Jesus in his love for those on the peripheries, and to live for the Triune God. We serve where the need is the greatest, always in communion and obedience with the diocesan bishop. We serve in Catechesis and the New Evangelization, striving always to help others answer the call to holiness. Our primary apostolates include parish ministry, education, caring for abandoned and neglected children and elderly, giving retreats, migrant ministry and being one with those on the peripheries.
